- Do this several times a day.
why does this work
Vaseline is sold commercially as petroleum jelly. It forms a protective layer over the ulcer, thus preventing further infection of the open wound. It can also prevent scarring and itching. However, it is not a good idea to use petroleum jelly if you plan to dress your leg ulcers.
